Just had a notification from bank that £140.73 was taken after attempting to use our card to pay for fuel at keflavik airport rental fillup station. Card was rejected, later received txt message and telephone call (automated) from bank reporting suspicious activity. Fuel was paid for using alternative card, but will have to check the other card isn't compromised. Iceland is really into self service card reading pumps, which is a shame.

This is the charge from an automated fuel pump at the car hire location at Keflavik airport Iceland. Users choose the maximum spend it will allow but you only appear to pay for what you take (that's how it was for me anyway on the 08/09/16). It was legit for me.

Got home from Iceland on 19th September 2017. My bank contacted me about suspicious activity on my credit card. One was Orkan-261 for £174.91, when I only topped up the tank of the hire car to the tune of £3.96. Two further scam transactions, one for £556.20 and another for £68. Fortunately, these two were blocked by my bank. However, I haven't got the £174.91 back and it looks like I'm not likely to get it back. What a sad end to a lovely week in Iceland. It certainly has put me off going back to Iceland.
