If the customers credit card is suspicious, the pump automatically charges a very small amount in the cents range to get a ping back from the customer bank. If it comes back positive, then the customer can charge fuel to his card, and the small amount is credited back to the customer. but if it does not go through, then the credit card is denied. Its purely for security reasons, and no one makes any money from it. I hope that helps.
Charge of $14.03 showed up 1/21/2020 on my bank statement. Never heard of this company of this company. Scam all the way.
