I had 14 separate payments of £0.64 each charged to a credit card I seldom use, all taking place on 11th December 2021. For each payment I was also charged £0.02 for conversion to PKR (Pakistani Rupees). I authorised no payments and I received no notifications about any payments. I have no subscriptions on my Google account and I haven''t downloaded any games or dodgy apps, so I''m baffled as to how these scammers got my details. Either somebody has accessed my Google account and got my card details or some other company holding the card details has had a security breach. I''ve submitted a claim to Google, deleted every card from Google Pay and reported it to my credit card provider. If you''re reading this and have experienced something similar, you can report an unathorised transaction here: https://payments.google.com/payments/u/0/unauthorizedtransactions\ Also make sure to report it to your card provider and look into where you think your details may have been stolen from.
I just got an SMS from my bank (ANZ in Australia) 20 x $1.49 charges made to a shared account with my wife on my Visa Debit card we only use for shopping. All today. We do not use this card for online purchases. We did just get back from Thailand and I used the card at one Hotel we stayed at and a nice restaurant in the absolute boondocks of Eastern Thailand. Hmmmm. I don't believe in coincidences. Very strange how they got the card number. ANZ Bank rang me up and told me they are disputing the transactions and I will get the money back. Card cancelled and a new one on its way. I have been using my credit cards over the internet since before secure sites were a thing (1997 booking hotels in Singapore). This is the first scam I've been with.
