Likely a compromised debit card. Google charges will never say "POS DEBIT GOOGLE" they will always start with ONLY the word "GOOGLE". Be especially cautious of the charge is from 11 to 14 dollars, there are reports of these types of charges coming up all over the internet since September.

I just reported it as fraud . It’s better to be safe than sorry don’t take a chance and let them keep taking your money

That is a clever name creation by a scammer. It is NOT Google. Your bank will mostky likely trigger a fraud alert. It will always be $1 or .88 cents.

Just got the notice from the credit union, "Pending charge at GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLD, g.co\/helppay#, CA." for 0.00, bc I requested notice for every transaction, but it's not appearing in my list of transactions. Bizarre. I don't use Google Pay or Google Play. Can't contact the bank bc it's Saturday afternoon--offices are closed. Really don't have time for scams. This is so bogus. Hope I don't have to cancel the card, but I will be in the lobby Monday at 8 a.m. for a new card.

Definitely a scam, I got 3 charges of temp transactions along the night, first one for 1 dólar, then for 8 rand (African coin apparently so it's like .53 dolar) then 14.7 rand, 2 from a different direction of Google temporary hold (us, gb) and one from Google arena London. The third one didn't went through as I moved most of my money to a different account leaving barely enough for the account to exist but I'm heading to the bank today.

I have just now seen this charge (hold) for 1.00 How do I get it off my account?

I have not given permission to allow a transaction on hold for $2 I would appreciate a refund and hell on the matter please kind regards wanitta O'Shea. It taken my money and not giving it back

Was charged by GOOGLE* TEMPORARY HOLD G.CO/HELPPAY# CA for the amount of $1 around 5pm eastern time today. After the google charge there were two small coinbase charges for a little over $1 each they happened within minutes of the google charge. I noticed these about an hour after they had been made because I was trying to use my card and the bank blocked my actual purchase in the store. Basically I had to call and they shut down my whole card.

I noticed this charge on my billing statement and had to put in a dispute. My card is currently deactivated and I'm waiting for a new one. Is there a class action lawsuit in the works or do we just lose the money?

I was charged for $1.00 today at 1PM EST. I had to cancel my card and get a new one sent out to me. It's frustrating that these scammers can do this and get away with it.

My bank flagged ten attempts to run a charge for $1.05. One was refunded by the 'merchant' and then the next day another charge for $1.06. They were from 'google tepo g.co/helppay' and also from 'Google vrere' or a combination thereof. I called the bank to report them as fraud and their fraud department told me transactions like this were very concerning and certainly a scam and immediately closed my card and issued me a new one.

It « could » happen when you card is add to your google account to ensure the card exist and can be used by google. In my case I don’t add my card to google, so asked a new one. Have to wait 10 days … If you’re sure : block your card. 10 days is better than thousands dollars later ;)

GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLD g.co/helppa#GB on my credit card today - so it is still active and my bank failed to pick it up - I happened to see it shortly after the transaction was made

I thought this was a scam but then I realized, it's because my card info is saved on Google so every time I make a purchase, it makes a $1 hold/pre-authorization charge but then credits it right back to my account after my purchase is successful. So at least in my case, this was not a scam.

I just looked at my bank account and noticed two pending cc transactions for $1 each under the GOOGLE*TEMPORARY HOLD .... I do not and never have used Google Pay and didn't use my credit card at all the day indicated. Cancelled my card. From what I am reading above, I did the right thing. Thanks everyone.

Its a verify card charge for something u used as debit. possible trial or anything wher eu had to enter a card and verify. The Merchant is using Google Merchant services for his payment services.

I had a pending hold on my account from "GOOGLE*TEMPORARY Hcc@google.com". I later learned this is from adding my debit card to Google's Credit Card Autofill service. Easily reversed and no harm done to my account.

Google*temporary hold came up on my phone banking app notifications twice then the deadbeat con artists started spending. They Went to the pub, bought cigarettes, the newsagent and a heap of different prepaid credit amounts from optus. All happened before my eyes within about twenty minutes. My keycard was still in my wallet- how have they been able to tap tap tap away $180 without access to my card and how does the google help pay charge tie into them getting the ability to tap a card with my details down the shops. And the shops they were at are literally 500mt away!? Someone that knows me or just a coincidence the charges were so close to me?? Going to watch the footage of who they are tomorrow at the tobacconist. Anyone else on the Gold Coast been done over?

I looked into my bank account account and say five transactions pending . The first one was $0.11, and the other four is for $0.44. But what I think my bank say the fraud that is going on and the credited me back for each of the transactions.

Just had two large transactions pending from this scam. Hoping ive stopped it in my accounts by disputing and freezing my cards.

Have had pending charges of multiple $2.00 & $2.99 on my account.

charge on my bank info. this is not a legitimate charge. I researched it ask everybody and there’s no one that purchased anything from Google and I can’t find any thing on Google that said I did purchase anything so I’m pretty sure this is definitely a fraudulent charge.

Just had this charge for 1euro on my card. Definitely fraud!
