This is probably the email provider sliversky. If you have an @netaddress.com or @use.net (or a few others) then this is what that is from. It is "legitimate" in the sense that you (or someone) did agree to pay for the service they offer (email) and they do indeed provide a decent email service to you. However, I'd rank it in a "rip off" category because 1) there are plenty of free email providers like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. There's no reason to pay for an email account. 2) There is no way to cancel by logging into your account. I suppose you'd have to call or contact a person to request cancellation. Some people don't like using the free email providers like gmail/hotmail/yahoo/etc because they feel they are scanning/collecting their emails and using them for marketing purposes. They're probably right. If you're one of those people you may wish to continue to use Silversky or some other pay-to-use email service. However, for the rest of us I'd say just cancel this service and use free email. Note that you won't be able to take your email address with you if you move from Silversky to gmail/yahoo/hotmail/etc, you'll need to pick a new email address and let everyone know your email address has changed.
