Now I remember, it was a fee for downloading a copy of my driving record.

I was on the phone to my credit card bank to stop it and only because it took so long that I started looking at bills I had paid. Why don't they spell out where the money is going rather than 200 RMS Internet/ivr at Surry Hills )I'm in the country and don't get to Surry Hills very often) Duh!!!!! what is that???
as Mark says, why don't they just say RTA Registration instead of us wasting our time looking up a strange name. I had just been sent a piece of internet equipment which the company said to me was free. I was about to blast them.
It is annoying that name of actual institution doesn't show up on credit card. I bought a knife from fish markets once and it appeared on credit card as winery in hunter valley. When I rang them it was another business under their company umbrella. RTA should say RTA.

We finally worked out it was trailer rego. You would think the RMS would make it a bit clearer.
What a wasted time. One month has passed since the charge. Finally worked it out as my car rego. It came on my credit card on the same day as TPG for a new connection at my office in Surry Hills and thought they had charged me for something else Why can't the government be more internet friendly. How the hell is anyone supposed to know what 200 RMS Internet/ivr Surry Hills? Shame on the Roads transport Dept

I was suspicious with the charges, so I ask my wife to google the 200 rms Internet. It turned out to be my car rego charges. Thanks to all your comments above. RTA, pls don't waste our time n energy. Tidy up your arse.

Thank you all. You've just saved me ringing my credit card provider to find out if it was a scam. And yes, let's hope the RTA or Service NSW or whatever its name is this week, reads this and clarifies the payee name. No point phoning them to complain unless you're happy to listen to hold musak for half an hour.

It was (online) payment for the Driver Knowledge Test for my son at the local Service Center NSW. I freaked out at first, thought I'd been scammed, but it's all good. Just a charge I haven't seen before, so panicked.
