I got this charge after making a reservation for Hamilton Pool. It is legitimate.
It was a charge for on line gov. documents Its ligit
Figured it was legit and just forgot the charge - that was correct. Mine was for Travis County Parks camping reservation fee.
Determined this service was used by my county animal shelter for adoption fees
This is a legitimate business.Determined this service was used by my county appraisal office for car tags payment.
Hamilton Pool Reservation
Yes, a Hamilton Pool Reservation showed on my bill as: "Govt Pays 956/682-3466 Hamer Enterprise, McAllen"
I long for the good old days when you knew what you were paying for. HE-GOVERNMENT PAYMENT is shocking. If it were for a few dollars, I would not have seen it but this charge is for $96 and I notice. The recorded message said they would call me tomorrow. They better or I am going to report it to my credit card company as fraud. It seems that if it were legitimate, this organization would at least send an email or letter ahead of the charge.
Got this and realized it was for renewing my drivers license on-line
charge was for renewing car registration in Travis county TX
I too had a charge that I didn't recognize on my billing statement. I searched this number and was directed to a company called Hamer Enterprises out of McAllen, TX. I spoke with a live operator during their business hours (8-5 pm) and asked for an explanation. It turns out that they are a credit card and check processor for government entities (cities, counties, parishes, etc.). I got hit with a charge for my vehicle registration renewal in Travis County, but I've read across different forums that they also process payments for other services: property taxes, reservation systems, court costs, fees, fines, probation payments, birth certificates, vital statistics; pretty much anything your local municipal or county government offers as a service. I had a long conversation with them about making their services more transparent, since "Government Payments" is pretty ambiguous to the average Joe. This is not a scam, unless your card has been compromised and used for fraudulent charges; but that can happen with any merchant. That's why I still prefer to balance my checkbook on pen and paper. :)
This "HE-GOVERNMENT PAYMENTS MCALLEN TX" charge was for renewing my car registration in Rusk County, TX. This page was very helpful in figuring this out. And yes, they could easily tag their charges with some clue for consumers as to the "plain English" source of the charge.
This was a charge from the county tax assessor for a vehicle.
$228.78 taken from checking account, I've made zero payments or renewals or fines, etc. to any government entity. I'm in New York and never been to Texas. I will be disputing this charge. 100% not legit!!!
Spotted as "odd" what was that, looked them up, oh , that's right they collected for an overdue sewer bill that my tenant did not pay, so I paid it via the credit card and taking it off the security deposit.
When you all use your card you are either approving by signature or online when you run your cards. People just don’t read their receipts.
Charge was for car registration in Bastrop County, Texas
I, too, was on a mission to uncover this mystery charge. After recently receiving my tax refund, I was certain that TurboTax was sticking it to me and not in a good way. Turns out it is the water department in Rosebud, TX. Forgot I even paid the damn thing yesterday. Lol. I turn 41 on July 4th so I cannot be blamed for memory loss. That being said, I went so far as to request an attorney consult for a class action lawsuit against Intuit this morning before I discovered my goof. Which to be fair is legit as well and they did rip me off, but it was for a lesser amount. In summary, it’s a legit charge.
Charge is correct. I was about to dispute it but looked more into it. After seeing everyone here, i remembered the payment. Mine was for a County Payment as well.
My wife called Bank of America over this charge that was done on her debit card the bank couldn't even give her her phone number to dispute it so the problem is can we ever get the money back if we disputed or is it going to be an alcoholic transaction this is the problem Bank of America should provide a phone number because all transactions that are done to debit cards and credit cards the vendor has to have a phone number for okay okay
Yes, it is okay. I used it to pay my license plates and registration. Since I forgot my checkbook at home, I had to use my debit card and the printout clearly indicates the charges as well as the name as it appears in my online bank balance info. Everything adds up, correctly.
This is legit. I paid a speeding ticket over the phone in Texas.
"HE-GOVERNMENT" for "PAYMENTS MCALLEN TX" was for a reservation for Hamilton Pool in Austin TX. It looked sketchy at first, but it was legit. Called (956) 682-3466 when I googled them--were helpful.
I just freaked out at the BIG charge of almost $2000. Got hold of AMEX to dispute and then suddenly realized it was from me paying my county taxes. It sure would be nice if the people we pay could tell us it will appeara as a deduction from this company instead of who we actually paid. We should know this before hand. Oh, for those good old days!!!
"HE-Governmen McAllen TX" was a legit charge for copies of court documents from Travis County, TX.
This is a legitamate charge. I was reserving a pavilion at my local public park for a get-together (that I had to pay for) and "HE-Government Payments" was the charge that came up on my credit card.
Charged almost 600 dollars back in April of this year 2023
I don't know why i am getting this message this is a scam,
I just realize that I have a charge from HE Government. I have not given them authorization to charge my account. They took $79.25 I want that money back.
