I use a laundry mat that has card readers on the machines, the charge always comes up as "usa technologies.." its legitimate.
This seems to be a legitimate merchant, but I think credit card thieves make small charges on vending machines to test the stolen card before using it for larger purchases. Since USA Technologies processes many of these charges, that's the way the fraudulent transactions appear on the credit card statement.

Nope!! Just had to cancel my card after a rapid series of $5 charges prompting a fraud alert from my bank. The initial charge was for $00.01 from the day before.
Charge from using a vending machine
Yes - I suspect my information was used from a rest area vending machine but subsequently got 7 repeat $5 charges at once shortly after using the vending machine
I used the vending machine at my local rec center for some chips and the charge showed up as "USA TECHNOLOGIES 2".
showed up 6 times on my credit card- actually only used 3 times on vending machine in hotel inn
I haved tree times charged ( USA TECH-SET*USA*TOWN DEL MAR CA) ($ 4.76, $ 4.83 & $ 4.75) . I did not use my card in any vending machine

Vending machine at my work uses a card reader that shows charges under this name. Pay attention to what the machine says, because in my case you have to close the transaction out by hitting a "complete" button. Otherwise other people can still get stuff from the vending machine after you're finished with it.
I HAVE BEEN TOLD CHARGES WE TAKEN OUT THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS WHEN THEIR ONLY PURCHASE WAS $ 1 ONLT TO SEE $ 10 TAKEN. FROM BANK
I think the gas station air pump charged $2.00 if I remember correctly so I assume that this is the charge that resulted from using my card with the gas station’s air pump’s credit card reader.
