I just found a charge on my Chase Visa statement FROM "CL *Chase Travel" and the merchant info on my statement shows as: "TRIPCHRG.COM, VA 230600000 US" The charge is for $1,241.50. I can't find a valid website and I clearly did not make this charge. Reported it to fraud department.

I was concerned about this charge and found it to be legitimate. I booked travel through a credit card reward point program, the amount charged to my account was for the exact amount I owed over my available reward points. It is legit. Hope this helps others.

Same thing happened to me. Over 7 grand of fraudulent travel charges posted from "CL TRIPCHARGES TRIPCHRG.COM VA" on my VISA. I contacted tripchrg to find out what travel agency was used. They don't know, said to contact my credit card bank, they don't know; their fraud department will try to find out. I'm trying to find out more about tripchrg.com VA but getting dead ends. Why hasn't Consumer Fraud looked into this tripchrg place, they are making fraudulent charges all over the place.

Seems highly likely to me that this is another set of thieves cloaked by a financial institution

They are a middleman when you use cc points or miles to book something. Capital One tells you when you reserve a car, for instance, that it’ll appear as this on your credit card.

Mine was a legit charge. I booked travel using my credit card reward points and this was the amount owed over and above points used.

For those wondering TRIPCHRG does do work with travel expenses but has been found to VERY often falsely charge people that have never used anything related to them. Down and simple TRIPCHRG is definitely a false business that scams people regularly doing minimal services and work to sneak by the law. If you get a charge on your card from them it is simply a good idea to contact your card company get a new card and have the company reported to the card companies and authorities they should not be trusted and are not truly legitimate.

Just had to cancel my credit card and get a new card. $1,000.29 charge showed up on my credit card statement. It was the same date I made airline reservations using my points and also used Orbitz to rent a car. Not sure which one they have breached . But its a definite scam.
