I called the Disputed Charges dept. at Wells Fargo and learned that EB stands for Eventbrite, from which I had bought concert tickets. The vendor, not the credit card co., determines what name is used on the credit card transaction line. In my opinion, Eventbrite folks are not too bright, since they could be preventing such confusion by reporting charges under their full name.
