Erika Souvenir shop in the indoor market at Buda Hill on the road going up to the Castle ripped me off for over $2000 US dollars. The vendor is a cunning thief who depends on your lack of knowledge of prices, the local currency, the value of goods and the law in Hungary. I was told by my Sofitel Chain Bridge concierge that there was no point in ringing the police as they would not understand English and in any case would not be interested. In addition the concierge was on on the phone for at least 30 minutes attempting to contact the Hungarian equivalent of the Consumer Affairs Department with no answer. My "tuk tuk" driver also tried to help me, we tried to return the goods that I had not asked for and the vendor refused to accept the unordered goods back, she stated that she only dealt with credit cards and was unable to accept the goods (NOT BOUGHT) back as she could nor reverse the transaction. I was ripped off because she added two zeros to the three articles in total bought, plus somehow retrieved a couple of the products she had "given" me. This transaction was done brilliantly by her, I have travelled independently throughout the world and have never been scammed like this before. Please warn any friends you have travelling to Budapest about this thief.
